Flambos, Pune

Flambos is situated near Inox multiplex in Pune. I came to know about this place though hording boards placed near highway. I went there without having any huge expectations.

Table & Cutlery
Wooden finish on Walls

I was impressed with the interiors. It had the wooden finish and the customers were provided with set of cutlery. I ordered Nachos and Crispy Potato Skin for starter. Nachos had good quantities but the guacamole was not tasty. Avocado is not common in India, therefore I did not judge the dish from the dip only. They also provided salsa dip which was very tasty with slightly sour taste. Crispy Potato skin was not crispy due to huge amount of cheese that was spread over it.

Crispy Potato Skin
I ordered four different dishes for main course. That included Lasagna, Pizza, Risotto and Pasta. I was not much impressed with the quantity of Lasagna. The pizza had very thin crust and lacked the feel of baked vegetables. Pasta was tasty and the sauce also gave it distinct flavor. Risotto was also nice but I was surprised at the small quantity of vegetables that accompanied the dish.

Risotto
After the main course, I was in no condition to order dessert as well. I found that some of the delicacies are good but I was not impressed with the quantity. Besides the restaurant need to pay more attention to finer details to make the delicacies more presentable and tasty.

Firangi Tadka, Pune

I visited Firangi Tadka on 2nd August with my family. This is situated in Kalyani Nagar near Gold Cinema. Valet parking is available because restaurant does not own a large parking space. You have option to sit indoor or outdoor near pool. You should choose indoor sitting plan if you are not ready to entertain tiny fellows, mosquitoes.

We ordered Onion Rings and Bruchette for starters. Onion rings were decent and crispy but Bruchette was not up to the mark. The taste of vegetables was not distinct.

Pasta
Later we ordered Pasta with red and white sauce along with Sizzler. Sizzler had many options for accompaniments and sauces. Pasta was very tasty, laden with cheese. But the sizzler was not in line with other continental delicacies. The spaghetti with sizzler was prepared like a standalone dish and was very spicy. I missed the vegetables because you can choose only one vegetable as accompaniment.
Sizzler

We ordered north Indian delicacies, Zafrani Biryani, Cheese Naan and Sweet Lassi. Cheese Naan and Lassi were great but Biryani was not prepared in the traditional manner. Even the rice used was not very high quality.

Sizzling Brownie with Ice-cream

We ended our journey with sizzling brownie and ice-cream. The staff spoiled all the fun because they brought it with ice-cream already on the top and poured hot chocolate over it. The ice-cream was not much in quantity and it melted due to sizzling brownie and hot chocolate. Otherwise this would have been a fine dessert. Overall the experience was nice but it was around 600 INR per person.

E-square, Pune

I visited food court in E-square multiplex as I reached early for my movie. This multiplex is famous among students because it is situated very near to University. I did not find the food there great as one would expect from such place. It was anything but value for money.
Salad

Burger
We ordered Sandwich, salad and burger. There was a live salad counter but the salad was not up to the mark. Sandwich was crispy even when we had it toasted. Burger was okay but there are way better options nearby.
Sandwich
The only relief came from the dessert. We had apple pie with ice cream for dessert. It was delicious. My overall experience was not great. This place is good only to pacify your sweet tooth while waiting for your movie to start.

Volare, Pune

I visited Volare restaurant twice within a short time. This restaurant is on Baner Pashan Link Rd, thereby it is not crowded on weekends also. It also has a dance floor on first floor. The staff was very friendly.

We ordered variety of delicacies. The chicken reparations were good. We ordered chicken satay and chicken steak. Both of them were great. They could have done them better by keeping the juicy texture of chicken intact. Accompanying sauces and fries were also tasty.

The best part was Pepperoni pizza. It was a thin crust pizza that was properly baked and produced aroma to entice one’s appetite.
Pepperoni Pizza
We were disappointed with the dessert because the Brownie was not even hot, leave alone sizzling. But overall the food was nice and ambience was soothing. They can enhance it using some noise suppression techniques in the ground floor restaurant.

Brownie with Ice Cream

Second time I visited the restaurant. There was rainy season and restaurant provided Sawan special vegetarian meals with options for soups, starter, main-course and desserts.
Tomato Shorba

Tangy Potato Wedges

We ordered one Sawan meal which included Tomato Shorba (Soup), Tangy Potato Wedges, Pasta with pesto sauce, Pizzlets and Chocolate mousse. All the courses were good except Tomato Shorba. It was way too spicy and oily. Pasta was good but they need to work on their pesto sauce.
Pizzalets

Penne Pasta with Pesto Sauce

Mousse

Nachos

Later we ordered Nachos, Chicken Basket, Double Pepperoni pizza and dessert. Nachos were good specially the accompaniment sauces. They provided salsa, guacamole and tarter sauce with Nachos.
Salsa, Guacamole, Tarter Sauce

Double Pepperoni

I did not find much difference in Pepperoni or Double Pepperoni pizza. It was tasty as usual. We need to ask for Tobesco sauce for pizza. Chicken Basket was nothing but crispy fried chicken breasts with fries and tarter sauce. But it was nowhere near tasty as chicken steak. I would recommend chicken steak any day.
Chicken Basket

We ordered Sundae for desset. The dessert took 10 minutes to arrive. I never expected it in a glass which was . The dessert was tasty but it was tough to taste all those layers due to presentation. Overall the experience was nice. The retaurant is value for money.
Dessert

Mainland China, Pune

I went to Mainland China with my friends. It is near Senapati Bapat Road, opposite Marriot. We heard some good reviews about the restaurant for Chinese cuisine. But we were disappointed as we did not find a single person able to speak in Chinese. The interior was nice and soothing but nowhere in line with traditional Chinese theme.
Noodles
We ordered dumplings, noodles and chicken delicacy. The dumplings were okay but we expected great food from the restaurant. Even the noodles were not exceptional. Worst part was Chicken delicacy. The sauce and meat were flavorless without the taste.

Main Course

Sizzling brownie with Ice-cream

We decided to move to desserts without much ado. We ordered three different types of dessert. Brownie with Ice-cream, Fruit with Ice cream and  another chocolate filled dessert. After tasting them, we were proud of our decision to move to desserts.

Fruit with Ice-cream
All of the desserts were great leaving one exception. We expected brownie to be sizzling, not just hot. But the brownie was not sizzling so the combination with ice-cream was not able to produce the desired impact on taste buds. Overall the restaurant was not able to live upto its reputation. It was neither value for money or taste for money.

Chocolate Filled Delicacy

Shivanjali, Pune

Non veg Platter
Shivanjali is situated on the Sus Road near Balaji Chowk in Pune. This place serves tasty vegetarian and non-vegetarian food on moderate price. I ordered non-veg platter to have a glimpse of the taste provided there. Most of the delicacies were nicely cooked but they were a bit dry. Cook could have tried to make them a bit juicer even. Besides the platter lacked sea food. This restaurant provides good fish starters. Maybe I would provide review for the same next time.
